I was obsessed with the movie “The Last Unicorn” as a child. I don’t know if anyone else remembers it really, but it was the saddest children’s movie ever, besides for perhaps “Peter Pan.” (Which is ENTIRELY about how growing up ruins your life, gaaah…)
Anyhow, “The Last Unicorn” is about this unicorn who learns that she is the last of her kind, because all the others have been herded away by the Red Bull. (No relation to the soda- I think.) She, with a couple of helper, goes on a journey to find the rest of the unicorns, and at some point they disguise the unicorn as a girl, to protect her from the Red Bull (again, no relation to the soda) and she sings a song about how now that she’s a woman, things are confusing.
It’s notable to me for two reasons: One, It is a REALLY sad song for a children’s movie, and: Two, It is voiced by Mia Farrow, who has one of the worst voices I’ve ever heard.
Seriously, I re-watched the movie in High School and we were completely into it until she started singing and then had to pause the movie for several minutes, while we stopped laughing.
Ask Mia Farrow to do many things, but don’t ask her to sing in your movies. Oof.

ALSO! There are curse words in this movie such as “DAMN!” said by the old witch. Also, I had to go back and re-watch this movie as an adult to double-check that YES, one of the character DOES get tied to a talking tree with HUGE TREE TITS.
Yeah this fucking movie was sad as shit but I could NEVER stop watching it OVER AND OVER. That and The Neverending Story. Those were all I could possibly think of renting at Blockbuster Video (Wow, what a difference!).

The Last Unicorn is dope. I think I still know all the words to most of the songs. Here’s me quoting it on Livejournal seven years ago in relation to improv. Schmendrick 4 Life.

When the last eagle flies…Love.Mia farrow, don’t sing.
